One Month Old Already

Felix is one month old!  He now weighs about 10lbs and is eating like a horse.  His face is filling out and he no longer has that scrawny newborn look.  He's sleeping in 2-3 hour increments at night and naps a lot during the day as well. He coos and grunts and snorts, gives us a dimply smile now and then, and just generally keeps us smitten with his sweetness! 

Gretel and Felix are already fast friends. She is always kind and gentle with him, even if he is hollering in her ear! He had his first bottle at 4 weeks, and ate it like an old pro, much to our relief (Gretel was never a good bottle feeder).

I've been enjoying maternity leave and the nice quiet days alone with him.   It is fun to just focus on being a mom and the wonders of this new little beautiful person.  It is a time I will treasure forever.

Happy Birthday Casey!

We spent Casey's birthday weekend in the gorgeous gorge at our friend's cabin.  Casey did some fishing and we had two wildflower picnics.  This one was at our old favorite spot, Tom McCall Wildflower Preserve. Gretel had a blast running around and Felix slept through the whole thing.

 The birthday boy enjoys the finer things in life (including his opinel knife!).

 No trip to the gorge is complete without a stop for ice cream in Mosier.  Gretel enjoyed hers immensely!

We love Mother's Day!

We had a lovely Mother's Day weekend in Eugene. The weather was so wonderfully warm that the kids got to play in the kiddie pool, and it had everyone in good spirits! Felix, at three weeks old, got to meet his Great Grandpa John and Great Grandma Dorothy for the first time.  He was given lots of love from everyone else as well!
